What common wood specie is the hardest?
The hardest common wood specie is maple. Nowadays, exotic woods can also be found in more and more houses. Those wood species are not way more expensive than common wood species.

Is birch as soft as people say?
Birch can be installed in houses and condos without any problem. Depending on the type of people who live in the house, though, you may want to consider other options. If young kids and/or big animals live in the house, birch is not the best choice. Same thing if people living in the house are always wearing shoes. Then, maple may be a better choice. Otherwise, birch can be a great and non-expensive wood floor.

Is prevarnished floor harder than finished at home floor?
Yes, because of its aluminum oxyde varnish, which is harder than any other varnish.

Are Evolution engineered floors more expensive than solid wood floors?
No, the Evolution floors are in the same price range than solid hardwood floors.

How much time does the wood need to be placed in the room where it will be installed before installation?
24 to 48 hours to let it get to the same relative humidity level.

Is satin finish as hard as semi-glossy or glossy finish?
Absolutely. The hardness of a finish does not depend on the gloss level. One thing to consider, though, is that the more glossy a floor is, the more scratches and dust are easy to see.

Can PM Flooring deliver my order?
Yes, PM Flooring can deliver your order. Extra fees may apply, depending of the region you’re living in. More information available in store.

If I have an overstock of wood, can I bring it back?
PM Flooring will take back extra wood if the boxes are not opened and if the wood is not stained. Restocking fees may apply. Chemicals, like glue or finish, will be taken back without any fees if the bottles are not opened. PM Flooring will not take back any rustic or colonial level wood.

When sanding a prevarnished and stained floor, will the color stay?
Unfortunately, the sanding will be to deep to able you to keep the stain. A colormatch can be made before the operation to let you apply the same color after the sanding is completed and before to apply the finish.
